APPRECIATE THE PAST, ENJOY THE PRESENT

As this year draws to an end, I find myself thinking about the new year ahead and reflecting on the year past and the new years resolutions that need to be re-added to the year ahead (namely, going to bed earlier and learning Spanish). In between reflecting and Facebook scrolling, I came across a new blog post from one of my favourite photographers, Jasmine Star. In the post she talks about the temptation of thrust yourself into future without appreciating the past and enjoying the present. She suggests, writing a list of things that we have accomplished this year to remind ourselves of how far we've come to prove how far we can go - I couldn't agree more and what better way to to start a new year.Things To Be Proud Of 2015-3And in that tone of positive thinking, here are three things I am particularly proud of this year: Finally heading to the countryside with my MumIn England, the summers are fleeting. But when the weather turns a little warmer, my Mum always suggests heading to the countryside for a nice country walk. Somehow we never manage to achieve this. The moment passes and so does another year, but this summer we actually managed to take time out and head to the countryside :-) Happy days.www.instagram.com/tanyaweekesPhotographing my first wedding abroad2015 was the year that I was able to combine my love for wedding and engagement photography with my love for travel abroad. In June, I photographed an engagement session in New York which led onto me photographing my  first destination wedding over in France in September. I hope it is the first of many.{Emily & Danate | Married}Getting my website up and runningI've had this website for a while, but 2015 was the year that I finally started adding more of my wedding photography portfolio, which up until this year has primarily been on my Facebook page. I also started creating and writing actual blog posts, something I've wanted to do for a while. The website is still a work in progress but I am proud that I am making steps forwards.www.tanyaweekes.comWhat things are you proud of this year? I would love to hear them..please feel free to leave them in the comments section.
