St. Barnabas Church DIY Wedding

After photographing this couple’s New York Engagement Session, I was beyond excited to see what ideas they had for their church wedding in Leicester, England. They didn't disappoint. The couple had a Muslim wedding ceremony followed by a reception in this old former church hall, St. Barnabas in Leciester. The setting was beautiful.

The bride’s niece and nephews were in charge of welcoming guests as they arrived.I love that bride thought to add small details to outside of the church.

Cute heart on the entrance door of the church.

Loved that the bride and groom created their own unique hashtag for Instagram for their guests to use on Instagram so that they could easily see any pictures guests had uploaded to Instagram.

I equally love that the bride used this old mirror as a table plan by writing guests' names on the mirror. The church smelt of watermelon and lemonade thanks to these scented candles.A path of lovehearts led the way to the church... Marco wore these classic chocoloate and ivory brogues.

This wedding was extra special to me, as I was also a guest. The bride made sure her wedding invitations set the theme and tone of her wedding.

The groom looked extra dapper with his leather suspenders.St. Barnabus church is a Grade II listed building and looks stunning inside and out.

Safrana's classic white theme and design ideas for the wedding complimented the Victorian building perfectly.Instead of a postbox, Safrana very creatively decided to have a vintage suitcase draped in lace at the entrance table for guests to put their cards in.

The bride and groom had this cute cake stand on their table.

After the sit down meal, guests drank chai masala from these pretty cups which Safrana sourced herself. Cake stands, lace table cloth, cute tea cups... check, check, check...

For the centre pieces, the bride and groom went for something a bit more unsual, old classic novels with doilies and old glass jars filled with roses. Each table was also marked with a luggage label which the bride wrote out herself. Glass water bottles with old fashioned stoppers also graced each table.

Safrana's three sisters were her bridesmaids. After the Islamic wedding ceremony, the bride and groom headed outside to take group pictures with their friends and family.

The bride and groom had their own cute table, facing their guests at the top of the church.

Strawberry and mint infused water served in ice cold jugs.

The bride made her wedding cake herself and added these pretty flowers to decorate which tied in perfectly with the floral wedding theme.

They then re-entered the former church as bride and groom...Beautiful original Victorian floor and or course the cool wedding shoes.
